Meet the Founder: Juanita Colbert, CFLE
Juanita, Founder and CEO, holds a Master's degree in Family Science from Concordia University St. Paul. With over 29 years of experience, she is a Certified Family Life Educator, and parent advocate.
With over two decades of experience supporting families, schools, and community agencies, I created this practice to meet a real need:
Support for parents and professionals that’s not just educational—but practical, personal, and deeply respectful of culture and identity.
I know what it’s like to want the best for your child but feel overwhelmed by stress, uncertainty, or patterns from your own upbringing. My approach combines research-based strategies with real-world understanding to help families break cycles and build something better—together.
As a family life educator, she aims to build trusting relationships with families, teach essential skills and knowledge across the lifespan, and nurture positive individual and family development so that families can function optimally. She has substantial experience in teaching and preparing instructional courses for individuals and families, alongside the ability to develop and teach family life education programs. Juanita can counsel children who have experienced trauma or loss, assisting them in adjusting to new situations or processing grief. She remains impartial, nonjudgmental, and empathetic when working with diverse families. With a strong understanding of child development, family systems theory, and parenting dynamics, she serves as a co-parenting facilitator, playing a vital role in helping parents navigate the challenges of co-parenting and promoting the well-being of their children amid family transitions.
Chief Development Officer: Derrick Colbert
Derrick Colbert is a seasoned business and executive leader with over 25 years of
experience in strategic innovation, program development, and community impact. His work
has empowered hundreds of individuals to discover their passion and potential.
He has led National initiatives across multiple sectors that improved market share, client
retention, and social outcomes for businesses and nonprofits. With two decades in
government, private, and nonprofit sectors, Derrick has designed programs focused on
market growth, economic mobility and security and family stability.
Derrick is a Certified Fatherhood Trainer, Credentialed Family Development Practitioner,
Certified Continuous Improvement Manager, Corporate Leadership Certified, and Executive
Management Certified. He has served as a speaker and instructor in schools, churches,
correctional facilities, and community organizations. His leadership roles include, Managing
Director, Strategic Partnerships Director, Operations Director, Program Director,
Community Outreach Director, Chief Marketing Officer, and Project Manager.
Derrick studied Business Operations Management at Southern New Hampshire University
and holds a Graduated Business Management Certificate from Cornell University.
Additionally, he holds Business Credentials in Leadership and Management and Business
Management from the London School of Business Administration.
